Cut-throat Table Tennis Competition 2010

While the Australian Open was battled out in Melbourne, another equally important tournament was contested right here in the MB+M tea room.  Yes, the inaugural MB+M Table Tennis Tournament was played out each morning tea time with passions running high and controversies debated.  After several weeks of fantastic matches and solid crowd attendances the day of the final came. A determined Ibrahim Bardi lined up against a competitive Clint Thomas.  After a very close game with many match points, Clint Thomas came out victorious.

Movember Boys 2009

The Movember boys – Jason Swetnam, Clint Thomas and Peter Bicknell – sacrificed their pride and endured many comments to participate.  Although small in number they were hugely successful in raising awareness of Prostrate Cancer and men’s depression.

Final total: $2,000 – not bad for facial hair!

Boys vs Girls Netball Game – Nov 2009

After a lot of argy-bargy the official results of this year’s Netball game was Girls 18 goals defeated the Boys 15 goals.

Best on ground goes to Adrienne Gledhill for consistent shooting and a spectacular fall.  Clint Thomas provided a lot of entertainment with his jumping ability although this rarely involved the netball. 

Relay for Life 2009

MB+M’s theme for this year’s Relay for Life was Winter Wonderland and ironically, the temperature lived up to the theme.  Team Captain, Katrina Newton and Denis Cathie receive an honourable mention for making it through the whole, bitterly cold night for this great cause.
